We are looking for a strong Senior Java Software Engineer to join a long term project for one of our international client in the logistics and IoT domain. This role is ideal for someone who can take ownership, work independently, and contribute to designing and building high quality, scalable backend services.

What about the project:

Our client is a Swiss TradeTech company that develops IoT hardware and data analytics solutions for the freight and logistics industry. Their solutions help logistics operators and cargo owners increase efficiency, reduce risks and downtime, improve maintenance planning and bring greater transparency to global supply chains.

What you will do:
  • Designing and developing backend services using Java and Kotlin
  • Building distributed systems with Spring and Kafka
  • Working with SQL databases, ideally CockroachDB (strong SQL experience is also acceptable)
  • Creating and maintaining services running in Kubernetes
  • Developing cloud native solutions on AWS
  • Contributing to build and deployment pipelines using Bazel or Gradle and GitLab
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams and participating in architectural decisions
What you need:
  • 5+ years of strong, hands on experience with Java and the modern Spring ecosystem
  • Solid experience with Kotlin
  • Strong background in event driven systems and Kafka
  • Deep understanding of SQL and relational databases (CockroachDB experience is an advantage)
  • Real experience working with Kubernetes and cloud environments (preferably AWS)
  • Confidence in build tools such as Bazel or Gradl
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar tools
  • Ability to take technical ownership, drive solutions and make key decisions
  • Upper-intermediate English level
