This remote position is open for candidates based within Sigli’s hiring regions: Europe, Balkans, Central Asia, Caucasus.
About the project:
Our client’s Cloud Development team is building and scaling a suite of backend services that power dashboards, reporting, and data integration solutions for enterprise customers. The stack is built around Java/Spring Boot microservices, with PostgreSQL handling large-scale data storage, BI reporting, and bulk data exports. Part of the scope includes integration with Microsoft’s ecosystem (Partner Center / Microsoft Graph APIs) to sync and surface partner and customer data.
The team is actively embracing AI-assisted development practices to speed up the path from prototype to production – so this is a great fit for developers who already work this way and want to keep pushing that approach further, rather than just experimenting with it.
Project duration: 9 months with possible extension options.
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem;
- Build and maintain REST APIs for internal and external consumers, including dashboard and reporting use cases;
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL data structures, with focus on large datasets, BI reporting, and bulk data export/import processes;
- Integrate with third-party APIs, including Microsoft Partner Center and Microsoft Graph;
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate delivery, moving features from prototype to production efficiently without compromising quality;
- Write and maintain integration tests using TestContainers; manage builds via Maven/Gradle and local environments via Docker Compose;
- Contribute to architectural decisions, propose and defend technical solutions to the team and stakeholders;
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) to ensure smooth delivery of cloud-based solutions.
What you bring:
- 4+ years of experience with Java & microservices;
- Proficient with Spring Boot and the broader Spring ecosystem;
- Experience with PostgreSQL (or another SQL database);
- Experience with REST API, TestContainers, Maven/Gradle, Docker Compose;
- Proficiency in AI-assisted development (Claude Code or similar tools), ability to move fast from prototype to production using AI;
- Strong experience designing solutions and presenting architectural decisions to others;
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, spoken English at Upper Intermediate level.
Nice to have:
- Experience developing API backends for dashboards/reporting solutions;
- Experience integrating with Microsoft APIs (Partner Center / Microsoft Graph);
- Experience with PostgreSQL at scale: large datasets, data structures for BI, reporting, and bulk data exports/APIs.
